Must Reads

There is lots going on in the world, and much of it isn’t all that cuddly good, but here’s things to read, and something to do!

Is technology killing courtship? The NYT thinks so but Slate doesn’t care.

Also in the Times, loads of men in North Dakota are behaving badly.

So, if anti abortion measures all pass, what’s the impact? Look at the post Roe v Wade world in a new study.

This man helped children at Sandy Hook and now is being harassed by people who believe the entire thing was a conspiracy.

Ally Fogg knocks it out of the park with a post on anger, privilege and power.

One of the best pieces yet on men, masculinity, violence and guns. I’ll have more to say about this next week.

Awesome spoken word about men and emotion from Modern Primate.

It’s MLK weekend? What are you going to do? There are lots of places to march and volunteer. Please go share in the love and legacy of civil rights! I’ll be at the Austin March, maybe I’ll see you there!

  1. If you would like to see the pro-feminist and anti-violence magazine, VOICE MALE, where Allan Johnson’s article, “Fatal Distraction: Manhood, Guns & Violence” appears–now on our website as a guest editor’s blog — — but very soon in the print edition, please write: and provide a postal mailing address. Only a small number of the articles in the Winter issue will be put online. To read the whole magazine–which has a special section: A FAREWELL TO ARMS about the Sandy Hook tragedy–subscribe: for yourself, a friend, your father, brother, or son…or your library. VOICE MALE chronicles the social transformation of masculinity from isolation and competition to connection and cooperation. Consider joining us.
