From the Transgender Education Network of Texas:
“Over the last decade, more than one person per month has died in North America due to transgender-based hate or prejudice, regardless of any other factors in their lives. Many of these crimes against gender-diverse individuals remain unreported and unsolved.
The trend shows no sign of abating.
With this in mind we invite those of you in the Austin area to stand with us in solidarity to remember the dead and to celebrate the living.
When: Tuesday, November 20th starting at 6:30 PM
Where: Austin City Hall Plaza.
Parking: Visitor parking at Austin City Hall is $5. Enter from Lavaca St. going north.”
Please join into this group with your hearts and bodies and support a world where this type of hate is eradicated. Have compassion for those who want to be accepted for who they are on the inside and who want and dream of having that inside be congruent with the outside. No more hate and no more hate crimes.
