Down Time

I did mention in my last post that I would talk a bit about the importance of play, and I will. For now though, I’m going to take a cue from nature and burrow into some down time. It has been snowing all across the country the past few days. We here in Texas even have had rolling blackouts and last night brought an inch of snow. That little inch was all Austin needed to shut things down for the day.

Taking breaks and resting is important as it allows the creative and playful side of us to regenerate and bloom. Too much trampling about due to social media, emails, projects and meetings can strip us of energy that brings about the ideas we need to make the rest of those tasks possible.

So I’ll leave you with a photo of our city today. Shining, quiet and resting.
